A light, lean and balanced white wine with beautiful aromas of coriander, tangerine blossom, lemongrass and ocean mist. Flavors of Meyer lemon, white grapefruit and white nectarine with river rock minerality on the long finish. This is a white to savor and enjoy as an aperitivo or with your favorite appetizers with friends. We recommend pairings such as a mezes platter of hummus with vegetables, seafood, ceviche and roasted fish with capers, oregano and olive oil.
These grapes are organically farmed at the Racho Coda Vineyard located in Russian River Valley. This is the first vintage made from these vines that were planted a few years ago. We are thrilled to be working with the team at Racho Coda.
About Falanghina
Falanghina (fah-lahn-GEE-nah) is a very ancient grape variety indigenous to the Campania region in southwest Italy. It is believed to have been introduced by the Greeks who had a colony here as far back as the 8th century BC. The name Falanghina is thought to originate from the Greek word “phalanga”, which became “falangae” in Latin, and means the wooden stakes used to support and train vines as they grow. It is possible that Falanghina may have been a component of the most famous wine of Roman times.
