Aglianico’s brilliant acidity is the star of Tansy’s light, dry, and delicate rose. The hint of wild strawberry and fresh grapefruit are bright and balanced, making it idyllic for cuisine such as salads and seafoods, or poolside leisure.
Heringer Vineyard is located in Clarksburg AVA near the Delta region of Yolo County. The maritime influences keep the growing season long without overripening the Aglianico, resulting in a delicate, vibrantly dry rose. This vineyard is known for sustainable farming practices and providing habitats for rehabilitated owls in partnership with the Wildlife Case Association of Sacramento.
About Aglianico
One of Italy’s greatest red grapes, Aglianico, yields wines that range from humble table wines to the rich, structured wines of Taurasi worthy of the frequent comparison to Piedmont’s Barolos and Barbarescos. Grown in Basilicata and Campania for more than three thousand years, this deep red, thick-skinned grape is thought to have been used to make the Falernian wine famed during Roman times. Today, it’s reputation has seen it planted in regions such as Australia and California, where it thrives in predominantly sunny climates with a long ripening season.
